Information: Through the scheme, we offer children and young people with disabilities, short breaks with specially recruited and approved Family Link Carers. The short break is usually in the home of the carer(s) and an allowance is paid by Lancashire County Council to the carer(s) for each visit. Carers are people of all ages and differing life experiences who feel they have time and space in their lives to care for children with disabilities. They are approved in the same way as foster carers and therefore are assessed and a number of statutory check are carried out.

Information: The Samaritans give a confidential, listening service 24 hours a day, every day of the year. This service for those in despair or those feeling suicidal. Volunteers are carefully selected and well trained with a good support system. We care for the carers.

wheelchairs, Handy Walkers to anyone of any age
group who has difficulty in walking around Ormskirk
and Skelmersdale town centre. Disablility aids and
radar keys also available. Membership is £5.00 per
year with a refundable £2.00 key deposit.
